Brian Bruce
Instructor
Sergeant Bruce has been a member of the Columbus, Ohio Division of Police for 16 years. He has worked multiple patrol assignments as an officer and front line supervisor and currently is the Division’s Defensive Tactics Unit Sergeant. Sergeant Bruce has been involved with defensive tactics and officer survival training since 1993. Sergeant Bruce is a national use of force instructor, OPOTC certified defensive tactics instructor and firearms instructor. Additionally, Sergeant Bruce is an instructor for Taser International, Pressure Point Control Tactics, Monadnock, Hit Man, Simunitions, Controlled FORCE, and crowd control. Sergeant Bruce is a member of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET), National Sheriff’s Association (NSA), an adjunct instructor for the University of Findlay’s Center for Terrorism Preparedness, and is a subject matter expert and lead instructor for the NSA/Office of Domestic Preparedness Weapons of Mass Destruction Train the Trainer national course. Sergeant Bruce has a BA in Criminology/Criminal Justice from The Ohio State University.
