Customizing your course content with an on-line option opens up a number of ways to improve your overall training effectiveness while also reducing your training costs. On-line training is available in three formats to best fit your specific needs. These range from open enrollment type on-line/real time courses, to customized on-line/real time courses for individual clients, to customized self study courses. These on-line formats all eliminate travel costs for individual trainees and also allow training to be conducted simultaneously in multiple locations. The three formats are described below. Open Enrollment Online/Real-Time Training Format The All Hazards Training Center is now offering several training workshops in an online/real-time training format. Trainees simply register for the course and then receive an e-mail invitation to attend the online session from virtually any location with access to a dial-up modem or a high speed LAN. This training is not in a self study format but is a live virtual classroom that is moderator driven which allows for classroom participation and interaction between trainees, instructors, and moderators. Effectiveness is increased by engaging participants with the ability to talk, exchange text messages, display live video, share whiteboards, and use applications all in one interface Customized Company-wide Online/Real Time Format The same approach described above under Open Enrollment O-line Training can be used to offer training to specific clients. Either a standardized course (RCRA, DOT, OSHA, etc.) can be delivered, or a course can be customized to fit your individual needs. This approach allows you to offer simultaneous on-line/real time training to any number of trainees at one location or even multiple locations. This can improve your overall training effectiveness while reducing travel costs. Customized Self Study Format On-line Self Study courses can be developed to fit almost any need. Traditionally, self study courses can save time by allowing trainees to work at their own pace. Many times, the development and delivery of Self Study courses are the most expensive option because of the inherent design requirements. However, they can become a critical training tool for you, especially if you cannot get all your employee together at one time for training.
