Behavioral Health Emergency Recovery
The most overlooked, and yet oftentimes the most devastating aspect of a crisis incident, is the mental health aspect for the victims, survivors, and first responders in the behavioral health recovery phase. In this course participants will explore human behavior in a disaster with emphasis upon segmentation of the incident, critical incident stress management, and the diversity involved in the recovery progression.

Individuals will investigate stress response assessment, normal reactions to abnormal situations, how best to present appropriate support during and after an incident, identify the degree of impact upon others and themselves, as well as site specific special needs evaluation and preplanning.

Who Should Attend: First Responders, Clergy, Clinicians, School-Based Support Staff
