C-TPAT Certification
In response to 9/11, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) began developing a new industry-wide security standard for protecting supply chains against terrorism. As part of this effort, U.S. CBP actively seeks corporate participation in a program known as Customs-Trade partnership Against Terrorism or C-TPAT. The benefits of participation in C-TPAT include a reduction in the number of inspections, an assigned account manager, an emphasis on self-policing, and many more.

This course will help you answer the following issues:
  • How to assess compliance
  • How "far" do I have to go
  • How does this impact my business
  • What expectations should I have for validations
This course is designed to educate participants and aid corporate decision makers and stakeholders regarding:
  • Expectations of Custom & Border Protection
  • Understanding CB&P certification process
  • Developing assessment tools for measuring compliance
  • recognition of the extent of potential program adjustments
  • Estimating C-TPAT impact on business operations
  • C-TPAT and the return on investment
  • Program implementation
  • Vendor relationships and requirements
  • Employee training standards
  • Planning for the Validation process
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
importers; exporters; air, rail and sea carriers; brokers, manufacturers, air freight consolidators, ocean transportation intermediaries, and anyone responsible for any link in supply chain security.

Required classroom time for this course is flexible based on required detail. Basic course time is 8 hours but can be tailored to 4 hours.
