| 16-hour Ohio Hazmat/WMD Operations |

This 16-hour course will cover all of the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER competencies for First Responder Operations level. It will train the participant to approach hazardous materials incidents in order to protect people, property and the environment. The course will also address NFPA 472 chapter 6 competencies for HazMat Operations level.
This program will further cover requirements by the Department of Homeland Security for performance level defensive response to suspected terrorism incidents.
Use of protective clothing, basic chemistry terms, control containment & confinement techniques, and terrorism threat assessment are a few of the topics that will be covered. Participants will learn hazard and risk assessment techniques to determine the feasibility of rescuing victims of HazMat/Terrorism incidents.
