The University of Findlay offers dynamic training that is critical for those individuals responsible for maintaining a safe learning environment for school children in this country. A report from the U.S. Justice Department reported that every day at least 35,000 students bring guns into our school classrooms, 160,000 students skip school to avoid physical abuse, 6,250 teachers are threatened with bodily harm, while 260 educators are victimized by their students. These numbers reflect what occurs on a daily basis in classrooms in this country. How can we expect students to attend class or focus on academic achievement if they are fearing for their safety from a bully or any other threat?
One can easily see that addressing school safety is sensible and should be addressed in a practical manner. The University of Findlay will assist in generating awareness while enhancing your ability to plan, prevent, respond and recover from acts of violence within their classrooms, buildings, districts, and communities.
Appropriate for; teachers, K-12 administrators, college administrators, campus security personnel, SRO or campus police/security officers, guidance counselors, and anyone expected to take a leadership role in a crisis.
