| About Us | | The School of Environmental and Emergency Management (SEEM) provides education, training, and information-transfer programs that focus on environmental, safety and occupational health (ES&H) issues, as well as security management, terrorism and disaster preparedness. SEEM was established as a separate department within the University of Findlay in 1986 with the initiation of the Bachelor of Science in Hazardous Materials Management Degree.

SEEMs mission is to develop and deliver effective and practical ES&H and disaster management educational, training, and consulting programs globally through a combination of the following:
Practical "hands-on" experiences
Internships and cooperatives
Various traditional delivery techniques
State-of-the-art distance learning techniques
Customized program delivery at client locations
Since our inception, we have awarded degrees to over 1,100 people from our Academic Degree Programs. Also, we have trained over 100,000 people coast-to-coast. In 2006 alone, SEEM trained 9,132 people, through offering 394 classes, at 216 different locations in 42 states, and 4 foreign countries.
The University of Findlay is the only institution that integrates ES&H and Disaster Preparedness training, a nationally recognized Center for Terrorism Preparedness and the opportunity to earn BS & MS degrees. | | |
